As Memorial Day approaches and the school year winds down, the traditional listing season is kicking into high gear. Lately, I’ve been receiving more calls from homeowners considering selling their properties.
Just last week, two clients reached out for advice and both asked the same question:
“How do you get paid as an advisor now that you’re not listing homes under your name?”
They were surprised—and delighted—when I explained that they don’t pay me directly. Instead, the agent I recommend (and they approve) will pay me a referral fee once their property closes. Their response?
“Wait… so we get both of you for the same fee?”
That’s right! I stay involved throughout the entire process, focusing on the overall listing and selling strategy, negotiations, and ensuring a successful sale—whether it’s across town, across the country, or anywhere around the globe.
