The McCray Mansion WINS The Wall Street Journal 2016 House of the Year Contest

Lynn Reecer - January 4, 2016

On behalf of all of us at Reecer Properties, THANK YOU for taking time to vote for the McCray Mansion as the 2016 Wall Street Journal House of the Year! Readers got to vote on 50 of their favorite world-wide homes from the 2015 House of the Day polls on The Wall Street Journal’s website from Dec. 15 – Jan. 4th.  The McCray mansion won with 80.6% of the votes (out of 230,627 total votes).

Reecer Properties had the pleasure of listing the McCray Mansion at 703 E. Mitchell Street, Kendallville IN 46755 in June, 2014. This prominent Colonial Revival home was built in 1928 for E.E. McCray of McCray Refrigeration and is one of NE Indiana’s historic gems.

To market the home, we listed it on‘s website. The Wall Street Journal took note of this magnificent property and an article of this home appeared in The Wall Street Journal on Feb. 19, 2015, and was the winner in the House of the Week WSJ online contest.

You can read the electronic article and watch a short video at: WSJ 2016 HOUSE OF THE YEAR

The printed article will appear in The Wall Street Journal tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 15th, 2016.
