Portfolio Insights, June 2019 – Acquired, Not Retired

You may have noticed that it’s been quite a while since my last newsletter. It was so nice to hear from some of you that you missed our Friday real estate editorial piece.  If you are just receiving this Portfolio Insights for the first time, this is an opinion piece I do based on my current and past portfolio of listings and sales where I discuss things I have learned from these cases so to speak, that I feel will help you learn more about making your best real estate decisions. I approach my career as being a real estate advisor for my clients more than anything; I like to be their go to expert for real estate advice just like they have for medical, dental, accounting, legal, and financial advice.  It’s been my overall observation that consumers are greatly disadvantaged in that area of expertise, by not having one solid real estate expert in their corner for life. The realization above drove me to decide that I preferred to spend the majority of my work time here vs trying to do that and run a company of 25 employees and agents at the same time as I was doing with Reecer Properties.

So, I want to make it abundantly clear that I did sell Reecer Properties January 1st to Indianapolis-based Encore Sotheby’s International Realty – so I was acquired but I have definitely NOT retired! On the contrary, I have been working seven days a week since the acquisition on both the transition and every one of my super important clients. (Most of my clients become my friends. Some even become my agents, like Anne Cleary and Melissa Little.) Over the years, we were approached by several national franchises, but I waited for the best fit and brand that would enhance what my team and I accomplished over the past decade: Reecer Properties’ high touch - high quality marketing, unparalleled service and results brand. I could not be more pleased and proud to now be a part of the Sotheby’s heritage with more than 270 years of excellence in business and Mark Zukerman’s Encore franchise. By joining Mark and the Sotheby’s International Realty’s team located in 960 cities around the globe, I can instantly do what I always wished to do for my clients but was limited by a local footprint.

I have loved working all over NE Indiana and the lakes (my team and I were the leading lake sales agent/team in all of Indiana in 2018) representing our Fort Wayne clients with their lake homes too. Now with Encore Sotheby’s International Realty, we can advise our lake clients with their real estate in Indy, South Bend, and Naples and on and on. In addition to these global connections with other Sotheby’s International Realty affiliates, I have now have team members in Indy and Naples, Florida. Further proof of the power of these connections: I am assisting a client now in a purchase in Santa Barbara at no additional cost to them yet they are getting two career real estate brokers’ advice on their significant purchase. So now I can reach my goal at this age and stage of my life where I can go anywhere my clients, their families and friends need me to help reach their real estate goals, which is my true passion.

Let me know how our team can assist you with any advice you may need regarding your significant real estate holdings-and they are all significant to us!

All my best,

Lynn Reecer
